Firm To Aid N.Z. Tourney (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 9. Darts is the latest sport to receive national sponsorship bv a firm. W D. and H O. Wills plan to sponsor a New Zealand darts singles championship each year, the first to be held at Lower Hutt on September 28 The tournament, to be known as the “Players” tournament will be run b- the Hutt Valley Darts Association. The New Zealand Darts Council has approved the entry of all affiliated associations. The winner’s association will receive £5O in prize money. The winner himself will earn a trophy to be put up for competition in succeeding years. Another trophy will be awarded to runners-up, with an association prize of £25. After competitions to decide local association finalists an entry of 50 or 60 for the national title is expected.

The Rev. L. F. Allison, formerly assistant in Sydenham, has been appointed assistant priest in the parish of New Brighton.
