His Rod, his Gun and his Waders, With other more intimate Freight— His Vitamin Pills, his choice Cigars, His Flask of Bourbon Straight— Stacked in the sleek Ranch-wagon Were a Sight for covetous Eyes! Who wouldn’t nave wished to travel with HIM And share those rich Supplies? To the handiest Lake they drove him At the Speed the Case demanded. Fish! they said, and he fished—one Cast And the Trout of his Life was landed. Time for a Drink—let’s make it quick! Up to the Bush they dragged him. Shoot that Pig! and the Pig lay dead. Pride of the Man that bagged him. In the Beauty of the Evening Sulking the Hills, they got him— The Monarch of the Glen Himself, On Schedule, as they shot him. Sharp at Eleven the Ship sailed. Midnight saw her steer Homeward bound with SAY, what a Man! What a Fish! What a Pig! What a Deer!
