Property At St. Martins Offered by the estate of Thomas Loftus Jones, a house at 76 St. Martins road was sold for £7225 at public auction on Friday. The auctioneer was Mr N. H. McCrostie. Bidding started at £6500. There were two bids of £250, two of £lOO, and one of £25. Described as a family residence, the house has four bedrooms, entrance hall, dining room, kitchen, pantry and laundry. Outbuildings on the section of 2 roods 19.8 perches include a glasshouse, and a garage. All floor coverings, a washing machine, and a refrigerator were included in the sale. Keen interest was shown when a house on a section of 32 perches at 125 Boon Hay road, Hoon Hay, was sold for £3226 at public auction on Thursday. The auctioneer was Mr R. W. Simes. Bidding started at £2760. There were one bid of £9O, four bids of £5O, and seven bids of £25. Built of weatherboard with a tiled roof, the house, which is about five years old, has three bedrooms, livingroom, and kitchen. It also has two open porches. It was a mortgagee's sale. The Government valuation is £2700. The rates are £33 7s sd. Sixteen persons attended the sale.
