ELDERLY GUESTS OF W.D.F.F.
Eighty elderly citizens of Christchurch were given an afternoon out recently, organised by Outings Anonymous. They travelled to Fernride, and were the guests there of the Canterbury North provincial executive of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. Welcomed by the provincial president (Mrs O. A. Wells, of Amberley), guests were entertained with old-time songs and items presented by the Woodend, ClarkviUe, View Hill and LeithfieldBalcairn branches of the WDF.F. In returning thanks, Sir James Hay said he was pleased to see that the art of “making your own entertainment" had not been lost in country districts. On leaving, each guest was presented with a small gift.
