Further Gains By N.Z. Shares Yesterday
New Zealand shares continued to rise yesterday in an active market. More than 100 issues were traded, 62 per cent, of them at unchanged prices.
Felt and Textiles, in last cum dividend business, rose 2s in a late sale on Thursday in Wellington. Classic Manufacturing, Dunlop, John Duthie and Pukemiro Colleries also made good gains. Overseas issues were again weak. The announcement of the higher B.H.P. dividend came too late to affect most sales, but latest Wellington business was written Is up at 455. National Bank of Australasia contributing gained Is in first business for some time. A. G. Healing and L.N.C. Industries fell sharply.
