St. Albans Red Cross Officers

Sixty-four new members were enrolled during a membership drive by the St. Albans sub-centre of the Red Cross Society, according to a report to the annual meeting. Donations were made to Burwood Hospital and Rennerdale Home for Christmas parcels to totally disabled servicemen, to the Algerian relief fund, the Persian earthquake fund, the North Canterbury Red Cross Centre’s emergency cupboard, the sick and wounded in Malaya fund, and the Freedom from Hunger campaign. ' The fallowing officers were elected: president, Mrs W. H Beanland; vice-presidents, Mesdames D. Smart, D. Watson, D. Few, A. Brown, L. V. Gain, and L. Williams; secretary, Mrs E. C. Colville; treasurer, Mrs W. C. Keetley; committee, Mesdames G. Rhodes, L. Cleverley and F. Dangerfield; sales table, Mesdames G. Rhodes, E. Uren and J. Peat; Junior Red Cross, Miss L. Saunders.
