CRUISER BURNED
Family Jumps Into Water (N.Z. Press Association) THAMES. March 26. A Mangat ar aita family, including a four-year-old boy, escaped safely when their 20ft cabin cruiser, worth £lOOO, was burned to the waterline at Waiomu, Thames, after the inboard motor exploded. The boat, owned by Mr W. J. Cropp, a farmer, was only two months old and on her second run. On board were Mr and Mrs Cropp, four children, the youngest aged - four, and a friend. When the fire broke out all jumped over into 14ft of water.
