The manager of the American heavy-weight boxer, Cassius Clay, dismissed as “ridiculous" the 25,000 dollars' offer for Clay to fight the former Australian Olympic boxer, Tony Madigan in Sydney "They'll have to double the offer," Clay's manager, Mr W. Faversham, told United Press International. “Cassius Is much too big an attraction to fight for a purse like that.” Clay told the Associated Press: Tly the time Uncle Sam gets through with me and others get their cut, I’d be doing all the fighting and aU the talking for nothing.”
