Wins For Nelson And Otahuhu

“The Press” Challenge Shields for 1962 have been won by the Otahuhu College cadet unit, which scored 96.8 points to win the North Island shield, and the Nelson College cadet unit, which scored 97.4 points to win the South Island shield and a cash award of £lO.

Nelson College has won the South Island shield for the sixth time in succession. The team Included G. A. Thompson, D. G. Pahl. P. W. Rodie, N. J. Kynoch, T. R. M Broad, R. B. Scholes, B. G. Richmond, N. W. M. Carson. R. L Taylor, and I. C. Fountaine. Thompson and Pahl scored possibles. The Otahuhu unit comprised R. Morley, R. Bull, B. Pointon, C. Long. R. Hartnoil, R. Hilton, J. Hmcho, A. Jenkinson, R. Casci, and F. Vesetolu. Teams which scored 80 points and above are:—
