Sharp Drop In January
After December’s exceptional shipment* at 189,905 bales, the quantity of wool entered for export in January fell sharply to 116,048 tades. This figure represents a drop of 62,714 bales, or 35 per cent, from the January, 1962, figure. For the seven months ended January, wool exports totalled 697,179 ba1e5— 158.932 bales or 19 per cent, less than in the first seven months of 1961-92. . The United States took nearly 135,000 bales in thelatest period, compared with 140,000 bales in the same period of 1961-62, increasing her share of the total from 18.3 per cent, to 19.4 per cent. The United Kingdom and European Economic Community shares were reduced.
