Seventy-year-old William W T illis. who sailed the balsa raft, Seven Little Sisters, from Peru to Samoa nine years ago. is planning another lone trans-Pacific voyage—from Peru to Australia on a revolutionary steel raft.
The author and lecturer •aid today his new raft. Age Unlimited, will carry him 10,060 to 12.000 miles from Callao. Peru, to Brisbane in from four to six months
He plans to leave Peru in April in order to reach Australia before the hurricane season
The new trip will eclipse his own 1954 record of 6700 miles m 115 days as the longest solo voyage ever “e--corded Accompanied only by a dog and a cat. not yet selected, Mr Willis will make a close study of a man of 70 exposed to hardships and solitude.
