FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone is centred near Tasmania. A ridge of high pressure extends from it to the area nortn of New Zealand. A cold front is moving north-eastwards over the South Island. Forecast:— Canterbury.—South-westerlies, fresh at first about the coast, but decreasing in the morning; partly cloudy; rather cold temperatures. Outlook: partly cloudy. Buller and Westland.—Moderate southwesterlies, fresh in parts of Buller; partly cloudy; a few showers, chiefly in the north: cool temperatures. Outlook: partly cloudy. Nelson and Marlborough.-—South-westerlies, fresh at times in exposed places; a few showers about coastal Marlborough, otherwise partly cloudy and cooler. Outlook: partly cloudy. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
