St. Ives Choir Strike Over
(N.Z. Press Assn*— Copyright) LONDON, March 14. Twelve choirboys who staged a no-pay, no-singing strike yesterday, were told they had won their 6d pay claim, the "Daily Sketch” reported. The strike was called a week ago when the boys were ordered to Attend a practice withmft pR». But, immediately after the service the boys vanished, leaving a note pinned on the organ loft: "No pay, no singuater tn the week, the boys, aged nine to 12, turned down a “compromise” offer of 3d for the extra practice. Yesterday, the boys who are singers at Halsetown Parish Church, St Ives, Cornwall, were granted their 3d claim for each ehoir practice or service they attend. the sum to be paid quarterly.
