S. Korean Cabinet Resigns En Bloc
(N Z fA .-Reuter— Copyright) SEOUL, March 15. The South Korean Cabinet tonight announced that it had resigned en bloc.
The Cabinet announced to the Chairman of the ruling Supreme Council. General Chung Hee Park, that it was resigning because it had decided to assume “moral responsibility” for an antiGovernment plot uncovered in South Korea last week An official said the Cabinet had decided to resign at a meeting this afternoon. The Government announced tonight that the Chief Minister, Mr Yun Chui Kim, had presented . the resignation of all Cabinet Ministers to General Park at 5 pm. today. The announcement of the Cabinet resignation came a few hours after Army officers and soldiers demonstrated in front of the Supreme Council building in Seoul. Some of the demonstrator* demanded the resignation of the Defence
Minister, the retired Lieu-tenant-General Yun Kwon Pak. It was not immediately known whether the Supreme Council would hold a special meeting tonight to act on the resignations. It was reported in Seoul that the United States Ambassador, Mr Samuel D Berger, had invited General Park. Mr Hyun Chui Kim. the Defence Minister, the retired Lieutenant Yun Kwon Pak and Major-General Chat Choon Kim, the director of the Central Intelligence Agency, to an extraordinary meeting at his official residence. The reports were not confirmed. * About SO South Korean officers and more than 200 soldiers on active duty today demonstrated in front of the Supreme Council building, demanding the continuance of military rule.
