Presentation After 35 Years With Firm
Mr G. M. Condliffe, who has been employed by Andrew* and Beaven for 35 years, was last evening presented with a television set on the occasion of his retirement as secretary of the company. < The presentation was made by Mr M. W. Beaven, chairman of directors, who paid a tribute at a staff function to Mr Condliffe’s service. Presentations were also made on behalf of the staff and of the National Insurance Company. Good wishes to Mr and Mrs Condliffe were expressed by representatives of the company’s auditor* and legal advisers. Mr Condliffe joined the company as accountant in 1928. and was appointed secretary in 1948. He is a
fellow of the New Zealand Society of Accountant*. When he joined the firm it was a private company, with no branches; now it is a large manufacturing concern, with ■six branches, and its shares are listed on the atock exchange. In his younger days Mr Condliffe played' senior cricket for the Linwood and St. Albans clubs, and senior Rugby for University and Old Boys. He is still an interested spectator, and has developed an interest in music and gardening.
