Fights an witnesses were called today when the Supreme Court trial of Bernard John Riley, aged 32, an Otokia fanner, on nine charges four of theft, three of receiving and two of burglary—opened before Mr Justice Henry. Riley, who pleaded "not guilty, is represented by Mr T. Fogerty, and Mr J. B. Decker ia appearing for the Crown.
Riley is charged with the theft ot a car valued at £260/ the property ot Motor Saias, Ltd, breaking and entering the Kalkorai Valley service station; breaking and entering the premises of Frew Brothers, Ltd., Moagiel. with intent; receiving 5000 cigarettes, valued at £26, knowing them to be dishonestly obtained; stealing three cisterns valued st £l6 St from a train; receiving a tyre knowing it to be stolen; stealing six cases of whisky valued at £96 <s ld M the property M the railways department; receiving tools and equipment valued at £l3B Ila, knowing them to be stolen; stealing a wheel assembly, tools and fishing gear valued at £65, 04
