Social Credit Claim

(N.Z. Press Association)

AUCKLAND, March 12.

Dissension in the Labour ranks was confusing Maori voters in the Northern Maori by-election, the Social Credit candidate, Mr W. Clarke, said at an election meeting at Onehunga tonight Mr Clarke said he had just returned from an election campaign in Northland. “Immediately one candidate walks out of the door, there are two or three more waiting to come in,” he said. “I cannot understand seven Labour or Independent Labour candidates contesting the one seat It is like one loaf of bread which is cut into seven slices.

“With Social Credit you ave a whole loaf of bread. The people know that I alone am speaking on behalf of the Social Credit."
