GRADUATED IN U.S.

Can Now Work

In Library

A young Christchurch woman, Mrs V. K. Clark, of Wairakei road, has graduated at the Illinois University after gaining her master of science degree. She was one of 32 overseas students in the university’s mid-year graduating class. Mrs Clark’s husband, Mr W. A. V. Clark, is studying at the university under a Fulbright scholarship. The couple left New Zealand about 18 months ago. As Mrs Clark was unable to obtain a permit to work in the United States, she applied to enter the university in order to be able to accompany her husband. Now she has received her degree she is allowed to work, and is at present employed in the cataloguing library of the university.

Before leaving New Zealand, Mrs Clark had already gained a master of arts degree in English. The Clarks will be away from New Zealand for another 18 months.
