ATTORNEY DEAD

Crash In Own Plane CowrigM) TOKYO, March 5. The bodies of an American attorney and hto wife were found today in the wreckage of their light aeroplane. The internationally-known United States lawyer, Mr Ben Brace Blakeney, aged 55, and hto wife, Margot, left Tokyo yesterday morning in his personally-owned aeroplane, a Cessna, which ha piloted himself. ft had been missing since yesterday afternoon. The wreck was found today by search teams in mountainous country southwest of Tokyo. Police said the bodies of Mr and Mrs Blakeney were found in their seats in the plane. Mr Blakeney was one of the lawyers appointed to defend Japanese war-time leaders in the war crimes trials in Tokyo. He pleaded for Japan's war-time Foreign Minister (Mr Shigenori Togo) at an international war fribunaL

Mr Blakeney was a practising attorney and a. lecturer in United States lew at Tokyo University at the time of his death.
