AIR PAGEANT AT ROTORUA
24 Planes To Go From City
Twenty-four aircraft will leave Christchurch today to participate in the Royal New Zealand Aero Club’s pageant to be held ait Rotorua on Saturday. Thirteen will be Royal New Zealand Air Force planes from Wigram—three Devons and 10 Harvaeds, four of them of the Central Flying School’s aerobatic team. The Wigram planes will be led by the officer commanding the flying training wing (Wing Commander M. S. Guniton).
Vampires. Canberra®, and Bristol Freighters from Ohakea will also go to the pageant. and the planes from Wigram will land at Ohakea for a combined briefing. The planes of the Wigram aerobatic team will stay, at Rotorua on Saturday night. The others will return to their stations on Saturday. Eleven planes of the Canterbury Aero Club will also leave Christchurch today. They will take 35 club members. Although one of the major flying dubs in the Dominion, Canterbury is entered in only one event at the pageant.
