Council Again To Seek Action
The Papairua County Council decided on Monday to write to the Postanaqter-Gen-eral (Mr Kinsella) to find out when a new post office will be built ait Sodobum. The chairman (Mr J. H. Weaver) said it was five years since the old post office was closed. “We have written to the Minister several times, and were told tenders would be called last month. So far. nothing has been done, and I think it is time we took further action,” he said. Water Supply.—A Sin water main is to be installed across Trents road in answer to a request by residents of the area for a better waiter supply for stock waiter races. Sunday Pictures.—Permission was granted the manager of the Rosy Theatre, Hornby, to screen "films of a suitable nature” on Sunday evenings for a trial period of six months. The performances must not start before 8.15 p.m.
Fees Accepted.—Council members voted in favour of receiving the 30s fee tor attending meetings.
