OVER-RULED DECISION

Suspension Of L. K. Tinsley (NZ. Press Association) WANGANUI, March 5. As a result of a decision by the Wanganui District Committee today, the jockey L. K. Tinsley will miss the first day of the Wellington Racing Club’s autumn meeting at Trentham on Saturday and also the second day of the Taranaki Jockey Club’s meeting at New Plymouth on Monday. The district committee met to hear four appeals against decisions of the judicial committees of the district racing clubs, three of which arose from the Wanaganui Jockey Club’s summer meeting and tme from the Rangitikei Racing Club’s meeting on February 16. Tineley was suspended from 6 p.m on Wednesday, March 6, until 6 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 1963, for having caused interference to Copper Pride (R. W. Taylor) in the Petre Hack Handicap at Wanganui on February 2. Tinsley was the rider of Aurora’s Wedding. The judicial committee of the Wanganui Jockey Club had imposed a £lO fine on Tinsley, but this was ordered to be refunded by the district committee which, In coming to its decision, decided that the interference which took place as charged was of a serious nature, and took action under rule 361 (la).

V. Ttartey, rider at Croydon's Gold in toe Matarawa Hack Handicap at Wanganui on February 9, was cautioned by the judicial committee for having caused interference to Red Oman (R. I. Thompson). Acting under rule 361 (la) toe district commitee found that interference did take place as changed, but that it was of a minor nature, and imposed a fine of £lO.

The judicial committee dismissed a charge ot inters ference laid against M. J. O’Conner, rider oC Star of Kildare in the Mataraiwa Hack Handicap. It was alleged there was interference to Black Label (T. J. Rudd) and Red Oman.

After considering the evidence, the district committee decided that the finding of toe judicial committee should be sustained, and the appeal was dismissed.

The judicial committee of the Rangitikei Racing Club found B. J. Clements, rider of Teneriffe in the Pukehou High-weight, guilty ot having caused interference to Heythorpe (C. R. Cootaiey) and imposed a fine ot £lO. Hie judicial committee also found that interference was inauffleient to warrant any alteration ot the piadage and decided to taka no action under Rule 285. The district committee heard appeals lodged against both decisions. In the appeal against Clemente, the district committee upheld the finding ot the Rangitikei Racing Club. Jt also confinned the finding ot the dub in connexion with the charge alleged under Rule 286, and both appeals were diendseed.
