FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone centred east of the Chatham Islands extends westwards over New Zealand. A trough of low pressure is moving eastwards over the South-west Tasman Sea. Forecast:— All districts.—Light or moderate, variable winds, with north-easterlies predominating on the east coast; cloudy areas, especially about the coasts, otherwise partly cloudy, mild weather, except possibly for isolated afternoon showers over the Nelson and Marlborough ranges. Outlook: cloudy with some showers likely in South Westland, otherwise partly cloudy. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
