Police Force Promotions
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Mar. 4. Promotions of his top police officers were announced today by the Commissioner of Police (Mr C. L. Spencer); Detective Chief Superintendent W. R. Fell has been appointed an assistant commissioner, and Superintendent A. G. Beal has been promoted to chief superintendent. Both promotions have been made in accordance with the programme devised as a result of Mr Spencer’s recent overseas trip. Mr Fell, who is head of the New Zealand C. 1.8., has been given added responsibility with his promotion He is now in charge of the C. 1.8. criminal records and information and the “Police Gazette."
