Irish Tenor’s Concert

A programme of popular Irish songs will be .presented in the Civic Theatre by the tenor, Leo McCaffrey, on Saturday evening. Mr McCaffrey who was born in Ireland, has made a hobby of collecting Irish ballads and folk songs. He won the Ulster championship for ballad singing and later the all-Ireland championship. He gave broadcasts over the 8.8. C. and Radio Eireann.

For the last six years Mr McCaffrey has been living in Auckland. He has appeared on television and radio in New Zealand. While in Auckland he .has trained under Sister Mary Leo.
