GRAND PRIX LIMIT

Proposal For 1964 Race (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, February 25. Subject to the approval of other New Zealand promotors, the 19M New Zealand Grand Prix will be restricted to 2j litre cars without superchargers using J 3 octane fuel only. • At a meeting of the board of control* of the* New Zealand Grand Prix organisation tonight, the chairman, Mr I. A. Parton, said that the new restrictions, if agreed to,, would provide a more even and exciting race. The cars would also be cheaper, he said. Mr Parton said the idea of the restriction came about as a result of the number of cars that were breaking down and failing to finish races.

Pacific Scries <N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, February 25. The executive committee of the New Zealand Grand Prix organisation will investigate the possibility of organising a Pacific championship series of car races. Several Australian organisations had expressed interest in' the idea.
