FELL FROM BOAT
Man Drowned In Lake (N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, February 24. Skin divers failed to find the body of a man missing after a boating accident at Okawa Bay, Lake Rotoiti, near Rotorua this afternoon. The man was William Henry Loftus, aged 51, a contractor, of Thames, married, with two children. Mr Loftus apparently fell from a 16ft runabout which he was driving on his own about 2.40 p.m. A non-swim-mer, he struggled to stay afloat but disappeared. He was not wearing a lifejacket. • The boat careered in circles till brought under control.
