FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A strong disturbed westerly airstream covers the country. Forecast:— Marlborough, apart from the Kaikoura Coast.— Strong north-westerly winds reaching gale force in exposed places; some scattered showers, otherwise partly cloudy, mild weather. Outlook: little change. Kaikoura Coast and Canterbury.—Light to moderate, variable winds; some isolated showers at first in South Canterbury, but otherwise partly cloudy, mild weather. Outlook: partly cloudy. Nelson.—Moderate northerly winds; some scattered showers, chiefly about the ranges, but otherwise partly cloudy and mild. Outlook: little change. Buller and Westland.—Moderate, variable winds; changeable with showers and fair periods; moderate temperatures. Outlook: showers.
