AUSTRALIAN MEAT

New Effort To Sell In V.K. (NZ. Prtsi Assn.—CopvrigM) MELBOURNE, February 20. The Australian Meat Board was about to make an effort to restore the declining meat market in Britain, the Australian Wool and Meat Producers’ Federation has been told.

Mr Roy LangfleM, one of the federation’s delegates to the Meat Board, said that beet and veal exports to Britain had decreased, but mutton exports had increased slightly. Britain appeared the only worth-while outlet for prime quality lamb, but the price was not lucrative. Only half the demand in England for Australian lambs was being met, he said. Mr Langfleld said that creation of a fund to guarantee the producer a price that would give him an incentive to increase lamb production should be investigated. He said th* demand in the United State* for Australian meat was increasing. Export of beef and veal to the United States in IMB increased by 75,000 ton* to 151,000 tons.
