TROTTING Great Credit In Sound Trial For Wednesday

Although they were not sent after time, Great Credit, Sirrah, Johnny Thunder and Gold Globe, rival candidates for the Canterbury Park Stakes on Wednesday, worked pleasingly at Addington yesterday morning.

Most of the horses were given light tasks, while the majority were at the course to gain experience behind the starting gate, which will be used for five races on Wednesday. Trainers used the main trade next to the rails, the surface being fast.

Great Credit, Sirrah and Parados went easily over one mile and a half in 3min 23 2-ssec, the pace being increased over the last halfmile in Imin 2 2-Ssec. and the final quarter in 29sec. Great Credit and Sirrah were pacing easily at the finish. Both should be prominent in Wednesday’s race. Great Credit has not been reliable from standing starts, but he should move off on terms with his rivals from behind the gate. Sirrah was a stylish winner at the Royal meeting at Hutt Park last Monday and he will form a strong second string for F. E. Newfield in the Canterbury Park Stakes. Both he and Great Credit could finish in a place. Gold Globe and Johnny Thunder worked comfortably throughout two miles in 4min 33 l-ssec, the last half-mile in Imin toec, and the final quarter in 30sec. Both horses look to have thrived lately. Arizona Gal, which will race as a trotter in the Wigram Handicap on Wednesday, was worked as a pacer. She made the pace for Talent and Stand In and shaded them at the end of one mile and a half in 3min 18 3-Ssec, the last half-mile in Imin 2 3-ssec, and the final quarter in 29 4-ssec. It was a smart effort on the part of all three as they are looselyassessed.

Arizona Gai has mixed pacing and trotting with success this season and she has won three times at the latter gait. She will have bright prospects on Wednesday as she stays well. In Form Flying Blue gave Yale and Adulate a start of flour seconds and paced his mile and a quarter in 2min 43 3-ssec, the last quarter in 29 3-!ssec. Flying Blue was

a place-getter at the Royal meeting ait Hutt Park and be Looks ready to win again tt riiort notice. Yale and Adulate ore rival candidates for the Chrifitchurch Stakes, a race flor three-year-olds on Wednesday. Johnny Guitar, which is attempting to stage a comeback, worked over one mile and a half in company with an unraced member of F. E. Newfield’s teem in 3min 29 3-seec, the last half-mile in Imin 7 l-ssec, and the final quarter in 31 l-seec. After practice behind the starting gate, Notify went away 20 seconds in front of Maudella and Enitopia. Notify was joined by the other two at the end of six furlongs and they finished together after taking Imin 5 3-ssec for their final four fluriongs, the last quarter in 30 3-ssec. Eutnpia and Maudella took 3min 20 3-ssec for the full distance.

Eutopia is a candidate for the Summer Stakes, a race for four-year-olds on Wednesday. If he races with the dash with which he worked, he could upset calculations. Maudella looks in great order for the Mobile Stakes in which Pharaoh will be her greatest rival. Tracey’s Pal, OaHeigh Lad and Mina Lass took 3min 23 2-ssec flor their mile and a

halt the last half-mile In Imin 6 2-seec, and the final quarter in 32 4-ssec. All three are in the Wigram Handicap on Wednesday. Oakte jgh Lad has the strongest form background of the three and he will be solidly supported on Wednesday. Looks Very Well Meadow Scott, which is now being trained by A. J. Bourne, outfinished Chief Omar and Lord Mina at the end of one mile and a half. He took 2min 47sec for his last mile and a quarter, the final half-mile in Imin 4 l-ssec, and the last quarter in 31sec. Meadow Scott looks very well. Courtella and Ali Bey went quietly over two miles in 4min 59sec. They speeded up to take Imin ssec for their last half-mile, the final quarter in 30sec. They are rival candidates for the Harewood Handicap. Ali Bey trotted bodddy all the way and did not hang as he had in some of his races earlier in the season. He could be on the verge of worthwhile form. Harbour Light, the likely favourite for the Wigram Handicap, was given strong work. She looks a fit mare and after her second to Our Own at Forbury Park on February 2, she should go dose to winning this race.
