Lyttelton C.W.l.—•Trophies for branch competitions held during the year were presented at the sixth anniversary celebrations of the Lyttelton Country Women’s Institute held recently. Guests were welcomed by the branch ■president (Mrs B. Barrett). They included the Canterbury Federation president (Mrs L. M. Kellaway) and representatives from sister organisations. Sports Day.—The Ellesmere Country Girls* Club was the winner of the cup for the club gaining the most points in the annual sports day held by the Christchurch District Committee of Country Girls’ Clubs at Leeston recently. Second place went to Ashburton, with Rakaia third and Darfleld fourth.
