Youn Man Sent To Prison
(NX Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Feb. 15. j “Had it not been for the co-operation of New Plymouth banks and some good police work, it is probable that business people in New Plymouth would have been taken down,” Mr A. W. Yortt, S.M., said when he was sentencing Stanislaus George McCloskey, aged 20 in the Magistrate’s Court at New Plymouth today. « On each of the eight counts of forgery, two of uttering and one of false pretences, he was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment, to be followed by 12 months’ probation. He was sentenced to a further three months’ imprisonment for theft and on a charge of driving while disqualified he had his period of disqualification extended by a further 12
months. . . The terms are to be concurrent.
