NEW BLOCK AT BOYS’ HIGH
Govt. Approval Of Grant
(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, Feb. 11.
A grant to enable acceptance of a tender for the construction of an additional two-storey classroom-labora-tory block at Christchurch Boys’ High School has been approved by the Minister of Education (Mr Tennent). Notification of this decision was received today by the Minister of Finance (Mr Lake).
“The additional classrooms will replace temporary rooms which were provided after the war,” said Mr Tennent. “As is to be expected in a large academic boys’ school, science is a very strong subject and classes are large throughout the school. The additional laboratories will enable the school to cater fully for these classes.”
