Summer Prince For Melbourne

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, February 11. The New Zealand-bred Summer Prince, winner of the A.J.C. Derby, will be a surprise visitor to Melbourne for the autumn carnival—but he will not start in the £5250 Australian Cup at Flemington on March 11.

His mission will be the £4OOO St. Leger Stakes at Flemington on March 13. In which he will clash with the Victoria Derby winner, Coppelhis. The trainer. T. J. Smith, said the big .stake money and the possibility of a small and weak field in the St. Leger Stakes caused him to change his mind about a Melbourne trip for Summer Prince.

Car Fire,— Slight damage was done to a 1938 model car when its wiring caught fire in Kendal avenue, Burnside, about 1.40 p.m. yesterday. The car is owned by Roger Carter, of 562 New Brighton road. One engine from St Albans attended.
