Gloves
Sir,—“Hedera” might like to know I wear gloves to Christchurch to keep my hands clean, and my hands are more wrinkled now. though they should not be te my age. By the end of the day my gloves are very dirty, but my hands are clean if I want to eat and handle food. I like wearing gloves when I wear a hat; it seems more becoming—one of the many things I was taught at school and glad to remember. I don’t like to see gloves worn without a hat; it doesn't seem right to me. But that seems to be the fashion today. even if not “smart.” Royal occasions are something special and we like to look our best. To us, Christchurch is just as worthy of “dreasing up” as Faris is to a Parisian. —Yours, etc., DINA HELEN. February 6, 1963.
