Free Tenancies To End

Some sports clubs and other organisations using city reserves or park areas have not paid rent for many years. Their privilege ended when the City Council agreed with the reserves committee that where necessary a suitable licence ■ to occupy be prepared and rental charged at the rate of £2O an acre a year from April 1. Croquet clubs, tennis clubs, scout troups, a surf club, yacht club, bowling club, community centre, and miniature rifle range were in the list presented by the committee.
