Supporters’ Work Commended
Health stamps to the value at £17,544 15s 2|d were sold in Canterixtry in the latest campaign. This amount, although slightly leas than last seasons total of £18,440 12s lid. wm collected in a period two months shorter than usual and so represents a higher rate of selling. The sum was most satiofectory. the chairman of the Christchurch district committee of the Health Camps’ Federation (Mr C. L. Martin) said yesterday. Because paper for the stamps was not avail, able for printing earlier, the campaign began in October instead of August, but the vigour at hundreds of supporters had compensated for this, he said. \ "The committee wishes to thank the hundreds of persons who put the stamps in envelopes and sold them and the many arborisations which used large quantities in business. Among the youthful the work at the Boy Scouts and Boys’ Brigade was especially commendable,” Mr Martin said.
