RESTRICTED TELECASTS
Royal Visit To Flemington (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE, February 6. The Victoria Racing Club has refused to let Victorians see a direct telecast of the Queen and Prince Philip at Flemington Racecourse on February 23. The chairman of the V.R.C., Mr Ross Grey Smith, said today that the veto on a direct telecast included the arrival at the races, as well as any of the races themselves. He said the ban had been Imposed because the V.R.C. committee felt a direct telecast would badly affect the attendance. Sydney viewers will see—direct on their screens—the arrival of the Queen and the two main races, the Queens Cup and the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes.
