Japan-China Steel Deal
(N^J^.A.-Reuter—Copyright) TOKYO, February 5. The Steel Exporters’ Association of Japan said today 10 leading Japanese steel mills had decided to send a five-member trade mission to China shortly to discuss the details of a plan for Japanese exports of 40,000 tons of steel plates worth about 6,000.000 United States dollars.
Items China is interested in included steel sheets, galvanised iron sheets, tin plates and silicon sheets. The association said the deal was being negotiated under an unofficial JapanChina long-term arrangement signed in Peking last October.
