Khrushchev On Way Home

(N Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copvrtght) EAST BERLIN, January 22. The Soviet Prime Minister (Mr Khrushchev) left for home by train tonight after an eight-day visit to attend the East German Communist Party congress. He was seen off by the East German Communist leader, Mr Walter Ulbricht. The Chinese and North Korean delegations to the congress had left earlier by air. In a brief farewell speech, Mr Khrushchev said he had received a host of letters from West Berliners. He thanked them for their understanding of the East German Communist Party. He said the East German regime was “a secure bulwark of peace in Europe." Mr Ulbricht praised Mr Khrushchev’s visit as having served the cause of peace.
