Butler Meets Welensky
(N Z.P.A .-Renter—Copyrtght) SALISBURY (Southern Rhodesia), January 22. Britain’s Minister for Central African Affairs (Mr R. A. Butler) today opened crucial talks with the Federal Prime Minister (Sir Roy Welensky) on the future of the Rhodesian Federation. The talks are aimed at finding some formula which would retain some unity for Northern and Southern Rhodesia and Nyasaland, and be acceptable to the federation’s 8.000,000 Africans and 300,000 Europeans.
