RECEIVING CHARGE

Woman Sent For Trial (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, January 23. Nancy Brant, aged 51, a domestic, was committed to the Supreme Court at Auckland for trial when she pleaded not guilty this afternoon to four charges of receiving stolen money and property worth more than £2775. She appeared in the Magistrate’s Court before Messrs R. W. Woods and J. Gavin, Justices of the Peace. Brant is charged with receiving £l4OO, the property of John Court, Ltd., £66 5s Id in foreign currency, the property of the Bank of New Zealand, Takapuna, 54 rings, worth £936 ss, the property of Walter Denison, Ltd., and £372 in money, three money bags. 29 metal coin containers, and three plastic coin containers, the property of Dominion Breweries, Ltd. In each case the charge alleges that Brant received the money or property from Brian Lennox, knowing them to have been dishonestly obtained.
