VACANCIES PROFESSIONAL NORTHLAND HOSPITAL BOARD Applications are Invited from qualified Medical Practitioners tor the whole-time position of: MEDICAL SUPERINTENDENT, KAITAIA HOSPITAL KAITAIA, NORTHLAND The Hospital is situated in the township of Kaitaia, which is the centre of a large rural area. Available beds are 63 general and 14 maternity. The Medical Superintendent will be responsible to the Medical Superintendent-in-Chief at the Whangarei Base Hospital for the provision of hospital treatment for patients in the Mangonui Hospital district, and for the efficient management of the hospital services pertaining to the care and treatment of patients. In particular he will be required to carry out the surgical work at the hospital and a higher qualification to surgery is desirable but not essential. Other medical staff consists of a full-time Physician and part-time Relieving Medical Officer and Anaesthetist. The Medical Superintendent will be required to cooperate with the panel of Specialists appointed by the Board, some of whom make regular visits to Kaitaia. . While the range may extend to Scale (c) £2480/2620/ 2710/2800 it is probable that initially the salary will be within Scale (d), I.e. £2085/2200/2340/2480. An unfurnished residence is available at an annual rental of £llO.
