Candida For First Leg At Kumara
(From Our Own Reporter)
GREYMOUTH, Jan. 11. The double at the Kumara Racing Club's annual meeting tomorrow will be on the Kumara Handicap and the Jack Reedy Memorial Hack HandlCB The first leg and main event on the programme bears a very open appearance and form at Reefton may not be relevant—with different track conditions. Candida, which was not seen to advantage at Reefton, should do better on firmer ground. Others In the field which are expected to race prominently are the lightly-weighted Roa. which finished weU at Reefton after receiving a bad check, and the top-weight Julloch. Leslie Beu, the top-weight, should be hard to beat in the second leg. This representative from the successful L. H. Pratt stable at Orarl scored impressively over a shorter distance at Reefton.
Coral Lagoon and Totara Lass are two likely to extend the top-weight. The weather has been fins all the week and as the forecast is for similar conditions, the track seems certain to be hard and fast. Selections—
