(New Zealand Press Association)

WELLINGTON, Jan. IL Wellington’s now-de-parted sea elephant. Blossom, proved a real money-spinner while he was in town, according to Mr J. J. Fleury, man-ager-secretary of the Wellington B.P.C.A. Mr Fleury said a bank official told him that Blossom’s stay in Wellington boosted toe city’s tourist trade revenue by an estimated £70,000.

The sea elephant had

been one of Wellington’s greatest attractions and thousands had come to see it during its six-week stay. Last contact with Blossom is believed to have been made by a trawler, which radioed Wellington that several sea elephants had been sighted tonight about IN miles south of the North Island.
