SEEING THE QUEEN
No Parties From Westland Schools
(NX Press Association) HOKITIKA, January 10. No organised parties of school children will be travelling from Westland to Christchurch for the visit of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh on February 16. A meeting of representatives of the school committees in the area, convened by the chairman of the Hokitika committee (Mr C. E. Woolhouse) decided this last evening. The Canterbury Education Board’s circular offered to pay travelling expenses, except for private cars, and to reserve accomodation for the children at Lancaster Park, where the welcome is to be held. The meeting agreed that such a trip, of at least 320 miles return by the children of WltoTlms!. which would in-
