Lenny Bruce On Narcotics Charge
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) LOS ANGELES, Dec. 25. The comedian, Lenny Bruce, known for his “sick” humour, is to stand trial on a charge of possessing narcotics. Bruce was allowed to remain free on bail pending trial after he pleaded not guilty to the charge yesterday. A trial date is to be set this Friday. Bruce, aged 37, was arrested on October 5 along with Robert Coogan, brother of the actor, Jackie Coogan, for allegedly having heroin in their possession. United Press International said.
