Blue Blade scored his first win in well over a year when he ran on strongly to take the Walter Weston Memorial Handicap at the Taranaki Jockey Club's meeting at New Plymouth today. There was steady rain during the morning but the weather cleared after midday and there was only one heavy shower during the afternoon. The track had the sting out of it and was a little slippery. A fair crowd attended.
