£95,000 COOL STORE

(NZ Press Association) HASTINGS. December 17. An 11,500 sq ft cold store, costing £95,000, and capable of holding 150 T tons of frozen products, will be constructed as an extension to the Hastings factory of New Zealand Foods, Ltd. This was announced this morning by the chairman of the company (Mr C. R. Borland). It is the last step in a twoyear Hastings plant expansion programme costing £200,000. Mr Borland said that the expansion of the Hastings factory follows the merger between the Birds Eye freezing activities and the freezing and canning operations of Butland Industries. Chalmers) announced that with applications already received and reservations made, the company's debenture stock issue of £500,000 which opened yesterday morning, was already more than 63 per cent subscribed.— (P.A.). 1
