CHRISTMAS PROCESSION AT KAIAPOI.—Spectators thronged the main street of Kaiapoi on Saturday when 40 groups or floats paraded through the town as part of the Christmas festivities. Sharply contrasting modes of travel were used by Father Christmas. After arriving by jet boat, he travelled by horse and gig in the procession, which finished at Trousellot Park, where a variety of competitions was held for the children.
